On Tuesday, a sports and recreation festival was held at the sports facilities of I Liceum Ogólnokształcącego. A football tournament, bridge tournament and chess tournament were held. Festival participants could also watch a performance by students from the Skowrońscy Dance School and enjoy pea soup. An additional attraction was a European Union knowledge competition. People who correctly answered the questions were given prizes.

Youth teams took part in the football tournament, held on the asphalt pitch at I LO. "Ziemia Bolesławiecka II" won. "Młodzieżowa Rada Miasta" came second. Third place was won by "Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów Bolesławiec". The next places went to: "Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów Wrocław II", "Federacja Młodych Socjaldemokratów Bolesławiec", "Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów Wrocław I" and "Ziemia Bolesławiecka I". The tournament's best player was Paweł Matusiak of "Ziemia Bolesławiecka". The tournament was jointly organized by Federacja Młodych Socjaldemokratów and Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów.

A chess tournament and a bridge tournament were held in the I LO sports hall. Thirty-eight competitors took part in the chess tournament. Ireneusz Łata from Jelenia Góra won. Zbigniew Humanny from Bolesławiec came second. Robert Jankiewicz from Wykroty came third. The prizes in the tournament were a trip to the European Parliament and material prizes.

The bridge tournament was attended by players from Bolesławiecki Klub Brydżowy and anyone else who wanted to try playing. A total of 19 pairs sat down at the bridge tables. Students and amateurs who played social bridge were paired by draw with players from BKB. The aim of the tournament was to promote duplicate bridge. Franciszek Sromek and Henryk Silicz won the tournament (62.88%). Marcin Mirecki (student) and Jarosław Molenda came second (58.15%). Tomasz Łowicki and Krzysztof Grela came third (56.54%). Michał Drankiewicz (student) and Roland Lippik came fourth (56.40%).

Marcin Mirecki (a student at II LO in Bolesławiec) received the tournament's special prize. Dorota Kwintkiewicz achieved the highest position among the women, taking eighth place. The youngest competitor, Max Brandt, came 19th. The tournament was supported by: Firma STW in Bolesławiec, MP Jerzy Szmajdziński, Member of the European Parliament Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg, Urząd Miasta Bolesławca and Jerzy Małachowski.
