On 30 August, police officers from Zgorzelec identified a suspect in the burglary of a bus in which members of a historical reenactment group had arrived at Jakuby. The suspect turned out to be a 26-year-old resident of Zgorzelec. He was completely surprised by the officers’ visit.
As officers established, after breaking into the bus, the man took, among other things, a bag containing approximately 1.5 kg of black gunpowder, as well as replicas of bladed weapons, money and documents. The total losses caused by the 26-year-old resident of Zgorzelec were estimated at nearly 5,000 złoty. The detained man faces up to 10 years in prison.
