Police officers from the station in Nowogrodziec, together with officers from the Central Police Investigation Bureau and the Mobile Group of the Customs Chamber in Zgorzelec, seized 24,000 illegal cigarettes and 150 kilograms of loose tobacco after entering the grounds of a private property. What is more, the officers found nearly 560 rounds of illegal ammunition there and secured more than a dozen cannabis plants.
It was initially estimated that if the illegal tobacco had entered the market, the State Treasury would have suffered losses of approximately PLN 115,000. A 47-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was detained in the case. He could face up to 8 years in prison.
