The Bolesławiec County Board – at the request of Bolesławiec County Starost Dariusz Kwaśniewski – decided to honor the memory of Wiesław Słobodzian, a local government official (he was a County Councilor and a member of the County Board from 1998 to 2006) and athlete, and owner of the Provita medical and rehabilitation center, who died suddenly on July 18. The International Football Tournament, attended by teams from Bolesławiec County and partner cities and counties, will be named the Wiesław Słobodzian International Football Memorial. “The deceased’s family gratefully accepted this proposal,” county officials say.
