As part of the project, a book by Tomasz Jacek Lis entitled “From Bosnia to Poland” was published. It is a source edition of documents concerning the re-emigration of Poles from Bosnia and Herzegovina after the Second World War. Translated into Serbian, it also contains a chapter covering the Austro-Hungarian period and the interwar years.
On Friday, 29 July, the books were promoted during the “Poles on Bosnian soil – 70 years after their departure” conference in Prnjavor. The speakers were the author of the aforementioned work, Tomasz Jacek Lis, a doctoral student in history at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń; the authors of the “Galicians and Serbs” book series, Jan Bujak and Miloš Miškowić; and a professor of geography and cartography and dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Sarajevo.
The project “70 years since the return of Poles from Bosnia – strengthening the cultural identity of the Polish community in Bosnia and Herzegovina” is co-financed as part of the Senate of the Republic of Poland’s care for the Polish community and Poles abroad. The beneficiary of the project is the Municipality of Bolesławiec, while its partners are the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre and the Association of Re-emigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends.
