In May, we reported that a mysterious sculpture titled “Tree of Fire” had been installed at the roundabout near I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. Previously, it could be viewed in the city center, on the square by the Market Square. The artist behind the work, which evokes various associations, is Bolesławiec-based artist Mateusz Grobelny. In our poll, almost 60 percent of voters said that the sculpture reminded them of... a vagina. What is more, it has been targeted by vandals from Bolesławiec.
“Tree of Fire” will probably be renovated in the autumn. It is worth adding that at the beginning of August, M. Grobelny will begin constructing the largest ceramic jug in Poland (4 m). The firing of the kiln will be completed and the first opportunity to see the “Bolesławiec Jug” will come on August 21, during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival.
