Bolesławiec WORD (a branch of the Jelenia Góra Provincial Road Traffic Centre) began operating in July 2014. We decided to prepare a brief summary of the centre’s two years of activity. It turned out that passing the exam is more difficult in Bolesławiec than in Jelenia Góra. Here, 48.51% of candidates passed the theory section (data for the period from 1 January to 11 July 2016), while in the capital of the former Jelenia Góra Voivodeship the figure was 52.57%. The practical exam showed a similar pattern. Here, 43.97% passed it, while there the figure was only slightly higher, at 44.48%.
Since the Bolesławiec branch of the centre opened, more than 13,500 people have taken the theory driving test (43% of them passed—5,581 people). Meanwhile, 5,710 candidates passed the practical exam (nearly 45% of all examinees). Detailed data below:
On average, 61 candidates take exams at Bolesławiec WORD each day: 25 take the theory test and 36 take the practical exam. At our centre, the wait for the latter is 7–10 days (unless someone cancels an appointment earlier), while the theory test can generally be scheduled from one day to the next.
We also asked whether, in the future, it will be possible to take exams in Bolesławiec for a lorry, tractor or bus licence, for example. Robert Tarsa, head of WORD in Jelenia Góra: “The Ministry of Infrastructure is working on a parliamentary bill that would allow theory tests for all driving-licence categories to be taken at local centres such as the one in Bolesławiec.”
He adds: “I hope that this bill will be passed later this year.”
