– Swearing like a sailor was, in a way, also born in the mind of Żaku through the shoemaker Jakub Boehme, and in our opinion Jakuby is the most appropriate place for this competition – says Janusz Pawul from the Municipal Cultural Centre in Zgorzelec.
So if you would like to test yourselves, we invite you on behalf of the organizers. There is only one condition! By 15 August, you must send via email: szewc@zgorzelec.com an audio or video recording of your strings of curses. But beware! The point is mainly to swear, curse and rant without using words commonly considered vulgar. Impossible? Not true—it can be done, as has already been proven several times in Zgorzelec.
– In any case, remember: you must send in your presentation by 15 August, and on 28 August, during Jakuby, it is time to take the stage – the organizers emphasize. The prize pool amounts to PLN 2,500.
