The incident occurred in the city centre on Sunday, 10 July. After 9 p.m., the child’s mother, whose baby was in a pram, called the police because she objected to a boy who had gone for a walk with a dog. She was afraid that the animal might hurt her child.
At the scene, it turned out that the dog was on a leash and that there was no danger. However, police officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the 30-year-old mother. It emerged that she had more than two per mille of alcohol in her system, as did the child’s grandmother, who had accompanied her daughter on the walk.
Police are checking whether the mother endangered the toddler’s health or life through her conduct. If this is confirmed, the 30-year-old woman from Bolesławiec could face up to five years in prison. The case will be decided by the family court.
