The results of the matura examination are commented on by Bolesławiec County governor Dariusz Kwaśniewski, who for several years has been jointly responsible for managing county schools:

This year's matura examination results make me very happy, although they are not a surprise. Once again, graduates of our schools achieved the best matura results in Lower Silesia: technical-school graduates came first, while general-secondary-school graduates came second—together, this gave us first place overall. Congratulations to the graduates and their parents, and thank you to the teachers. The matura results are further proof that our county education system is very well organised and that county education is our greatest asset. That is precisely why the idea of having another local government body, such as the city, manage county education is simply misguided. There is no point improving something that is already the best.

Graduates of Bolesławiec county schools (86%) outperformed those in Wrocław (84.8%)!

The overall pass rate in Bolesławiec County was 86%, or 8.8% higher than in Lower Silesia (77.2%). The highest pass rate among technical schools, 80.7%, once again confirms the quality of county vocational education (in Lower Silesia, technical-school students achieved a pass rate of only 62.6%). General-secondary schools also ranked highly—in second place in the voivodeship—achieving a result 5.4% better than that of students in Lower Silesia.

Among Bolesławiec general-secondary schools where the matura examination was already being held under the new curriculum formula, II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka w Bolesławcu achieved the better result, with a very good pass rate of 97.2%. I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. W. Broniewskiego w Bolesławcu recorded 95.8%.

Among the technical schools, the highest-ranked, with pass rates above 87%, were Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Bolesławcu and Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych im. Ignacego Domeyki w Bolesławcu. Just behind them were Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych im. Ludwika Waryńskiego w Bolesławcu and Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych im. mjra Henryka Sucharskiego w Bolesławcu—with results above 78%. Further down was Zespół Szkół Budowlanych w Bolesławcu, with 67.4%.

It should be remembered that, in the case of technical schools, different numbers of students sit the matura examination. The largest numbers of graduates took the examination at “Elektronik” and ZSOiZ, while the fewest took it at “Mechanik”.
