Last weekend, the National Veterans’ Table Tennis Tournament was held in Drzonków. As many as 160 players from across Poland took part in the competition, including three players from TOP Bolesławiec: Zbigniew Kurasz, Henryk Płonka and Remigiusz Kacperczyk.

On the first day, the Bolesławiec players put on an excellent performance and, after fiercely contested group matches, advanced to Sunday’s finals. Our oldest players performed very well in the final matches. Remigiusz Kacperczyk defeated several players, including competitors from Warsaw, Gliwice and Wrocław. As a result, he deservedly won first place. Henryk Płonka also played at his highest level and, after a narrow defeat to Paweł Leszczyna from Gliwice in the match for a place in the final, won the bronze medal.

It should be emphasized that Bolesławiec player Remigiusz Kacperczyk was the only competitor who did not lose even a single set on his way to the gold medal, defeating everyone comfortably 3:0! Our third player, Zbigniew Kurasz, advanced to the finals after good performances on Saturday, where he lost to a player from Łódź and ultimately finished in 17th place. This was the first tournament of its kind in which players from TOP Bolesławiec took part. The Bolesławiec players proved that they can defeat competitors from across Poland.
