The man had a cut bicycle lock and tools used to commit the crime in his possession.
The man from Legnica is already known to the police – he has been detained by officers several times while attempting to break into or breaking into basements in our city. (In May, officers recovered property worth PLN 1,800 stolen by the suspect).
The recovered bicycle was returned to its owner, and the man was charged with theft, which carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica placed the man from Legnica under police supervision.
