On Friday, the Stanisław Merdas Throwing Memorial was held at the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. The competition was organized by MKS Boleslavia and MOSiR. The youngest participants competed in the palant ball throw. The older athletes threw the javelin and discus and competed in the shot put.

In the primary school category, Angelika Plizga (Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec) threw the palant ball the farthest. In the middle school category, Martyna Hoffman from Szprotawa achieved the best results in the shot put and javelin throw. Agnieszka Dalmata from Bolesławiec threw the discus the farthest. In the upper-secondary school category, Aneta Hoffman from Szprotawa threw the javelin the farthest.

Among the boys, Jan Wojciechowski (Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec) threw the palant ball the farthest. In the middle school category, Wojciech Słaboń from Gorzów threw the javelin the farthest. Daniel Ryż from Zgorzelec proved the best in the discus throw, while Łukasz Bober from Bolesławiec achieved the farthest shot put. In the upper-secondary school category, Kamil Grzegorczyk from Szprotawa proved the best in the discus throw and shot put. Wiktor Niezgodziński from Bolesławiec won the javelin throw.

The Stanisław Merdas Athletics Memorial was held in Bolesławiec for the first time. Stanisław Merdas, who died last year, was a teacher and coach associated with athletics. He founded the Inter-School Sports Club Boleslavia. The guests at the competition were Polish athletics legends Paweł Januszewski, Urszula Włodarczyk and Jacek Bocian.
