On 16 June, at around 10:00 p.m., volunteer firefighters from Osiecznica pumped water out of a flooded garage on Różana Street in Bolesławiec. The following day, together with firefighters from Bolesławiec and Różyniec and the Military Fire Service from Świętoszów, they removed the effects of the rainfall at the military unit in Bolesławiec. On 17 June at 10:17 a.m., we were dispatched to pump water from a flooded property in Bolesławiec on Gdańska Street. After completing the operation, we were dispatched again, this time to the flooded area around the health centre in Kraśnik Dolny.
And it could have been even worse. During the Jubilee Gala of the Bolesławiec Amazons Club Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman informed everyone gathered in the Forum hall that the retention reservoir on Jeleniogórska Street had fulfilled its role. “I have a great reason to be satisfied, because if it had not been for this retention reservoir, Willowa Street and its surroundings would have been flooded again today,” the mayor stressed.
