The investment project provides for both separate bicycle paths and shared pedestrian and bicycle paths. The 21-kilometre section to be built in our city will form part of regional and international bicycle routes, including the cross-border network of bicycle trails of the Euroregion Neisse. The surfaces of the pavements and paths will be made of concrete paving blocks in three colours: grey, red and black. In some places, gravel or asphalt concrete will be laid. The project also includes equipping rest areas with bicycle racks, benches, tables, bins and information boards. The paths will run through the forest near Piastów Street, along the boulevard on the Bóbr River, through the forest near Jeleniogórska Street, along Modrzewiowa Street and through the city's Planty park. The construction of the paths will significantly improve bicycle traffic in the city.
The design and documentation project was completed using funds from the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG III A Community Initiative Programme Free State of Saxony – Republic of Poland (Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
