Police officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then detained a 22-year-old resident of Jeżów Sudecki municipality suspected of burglary.
The incident occurred in May in Jelenia Góra. While walking down the street, the victim lost her bank card, which was found by the 22-year-old. The man decided to use it and made contactless payments for purchases at least 20 times. Among other things, he bought alcohol, fuel and sweets.
When the owner realized that someone had used her card, she notified the police. Based on the information collected in the case, the officers identified and detained the person suspected of the act.
The man confessed. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
