Let us recall: four teams were directly promoted to the second division: two from the Masovian Voivodeship, one from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and one from the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The thing is, as many as eight places have become available in the second division.

And if we take sporting achievements into account, BTS Elektros, which finished second in its group, achieved the best result among the teams from the western part of Poland. None of those teams made it that far. The Bolesławiec side won the semifinal, winning all its matches and defeating teams from the Lubusz, Opole and Silesian Voivodeships. It also finished second in the final, losing only to the favored host team, KKS Kozienice. Our team won five of its six matches. In the opinion of experts, it was one of the best teams in the competition.

Therefore, judging by the way the Bolesławiec team performed on the national stage, “Elektryczni” should be promoted. Whether that will happen is not yet known. Everything is in the hands of the Polish Volleyball Association. A decision on the matter is expected in June.

Asked for comment, Jacek Łuczkowski, president of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie, said: “If the PZPS, recognizing our team’s sporting achievements, grants us an additional place, BTS Elektros will consider participating in the second-division competition. However, we certainly will not incur any additional fees.”

The fact that the Bolesławiec team has been noticed in Polish sport is also evidenced by the fact that the latest issue of the well-known weekly “Słowo Sportowe” features an interview with the “Elektryczni” coach, Marcin Sobczyszyn. We encourage you to read it.
