The Season Opening Regatta is the first event in the Lower Silesia Cup series. Over two days, eight races were held in good wind conditions in two classes: optimist and cadet.

Seven young sailors from Bolesławiec took part in the regatta, competing in the optimist class. For most of them, it was their first appearance in a regatta of such a high rank, and for some, their first competition ever.

The best result was achieved by the most experienced competitor from the Sail Swim sailing school, Wincenty Grochowski, who placed ninth overall. The other competitors also performed very well: Jakub Adamowicz (16th), Jagoda Krzan (26th), Nadia Misiak (27th), Aleksander Chlastawa (30th), Jan Kawałko (32nd), and Tymon Gajewski (34th).

The competitors began preparing for the regatta in March. Since April, they have been sailing in Krępnica and travelling to Kunice near Legnica to improve their skills on a larger body of water in more challenging conditions. The Sail Swim sailing school invites children to sailing classes. Details are available at www.zeglarska.strefa.pl.

Classes are led by PZŻ instructor Jakub Jakubowski.
