On Sunday, May 15, the KKS Kozienice team, the tournament favourites and hosts, took on the Bolesławiec side. The match began 15 minutes later, at 2:15 p.m. In Sunday’s match between UKS Iflo Kosmet-Hurt Biała Podlaska and MUKS Ziemia Milicka Milicz, the former prevailed, defeating the Milicz team 3:2 after a tiebreak.
The tournament’s most important match was watched by a full house. The atmosphere in the hall was incredible. The first set was a point-by-point battle. It seemed that Łukasz Mesjasz’s phenomenal serves would tip the balance in favour of “Elektryczni” in this set. We were already leading 24:22. Unfortunately, despite having two set points and because of an error by the linesperson, the Bolesławiec team lost the set 25:27 in extra points.
A horror in the second set: once again we lost in extra points, this time 24:26. In the third set, after a fiercely contested battle, the hosts prevailed again, winning the entire match 3:0.
We thank “Elektryczni” for this season and for a whole host of phenomenal matches. And for fighting to the end. As we already wrote on Saturday, the Bolesławiec team are champions in our eyes anyway.
