A 22-year-old resident of Lwówek County, suspected of property-related crimes, was apprehended by officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.

The arrest took place on May 6, at around 4:20 a.m., on one of the streets in the Zabobrze area. The officers noticed a man who, upon seeing them, fled. The police gave chase and arrested him moments later. It turned out that shortly beforehand, the 22-year-old had smashed the window of a Toyota with a stone and then robbed it. He stole property worth approximately PLN 300.

Moreover, the officers determined that between April 30 and the time of his arrest, the 22-year-old had broken into and robbed at least six cars in Jelenia Góra. His loot included two toolboxes, a cordless drill, car radios, power tools and other items of some value.

The victims' total losses amount to several thousand złotys. Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail and determining what happened to the stolen property.

The 22-year-old was taken into police custody. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
