The film “God’s Not Dead 2” — a gripping story about attempting to answer the most important questions solely through legal arguments; “London Has Fallen,” a spectacular action film about a day on which the Western world may come to an end; “Queen of the Desert,” the story of the extraordinary life of Gertrude Bell — writer and traveller, archaeologist and cartographer; and Will Smith in a masterful role in the film “Concussion”.
“God’s Not Dead 2” — the second part of the film that moved the hearts and consciences of more than 140,000 Polish viewers. Can a believer, or should a believer, hide their faith in the face of non-believers? Can faith offend someone or harm young minds? A high-school teacher accused of violating the rule concerning the secular nature of state institutions must answer such questions in court after mentioning Jesus’s activities during a history lesson. The legal dispute, intended to teach humility to believers, turns into an extraordinary debate about freedom of conscience, the existence of God and the need to seek something more in life than earthly goods.
“Concussion” — a drama inspired by an article in “GQ” magazine presenting evidence linking athletes’ repeated minor concussions and head injuries with their subsequent suicides. Dr Bennett Omalu discovered the connection between these events, linking the injuries to which athletes are exposed with “chronic traumatic encephalopathy”, whose symptoms often lead to depression and suicide.
“London Has Fallen” — the sequel to the hit “Olympus Has Fallen”. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom dies in unexplained circumstances. His funeral is the largest gathering of leaders of the free world in decades. Everything suggests that it is the best-protected event in history, until it turns out that a terrorist conspiracy reaches the highest levels of Western intelligence services and that the meeting in London was planned from the outset as an opportunity for an attack. The only person who can still reverse the course of the dramatic events is the head of the US president’s security detail, agent Mike Banning.
“Queen of the Desert” — writer, traveller, archaeologist and British intelligence agent. An extraordinary woman who, during the era of emancipation, became one of the most important people shaping the policy of the British Empire in the Middle East. Gertrude Bell always did what she wanted. She loved risk and adrenaline. Some called her “an arrogant Oxford miss”. She consistently proved that she was better than men. She attained a position in the Arab world that at the time seemed impossible for a woman, even in Great Britain. Her life was an adventure in which all her dreams came true — except one: love.
In its second week on our screen, and not only for young viewers, is the adventure film “The Jungle Book”, which we will show in digital and 3D versions.
