On Friday, the county-level round of the National Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament was held in the sports hall of the Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych. The tournament was attended by 50 children from primary schools, middle schools and upper-secondary schools in Bolesławiec County.
Anna Latosińska won in the primary school category. Kinga Kraczkowska came second and Ewa Hapłyk third. In the middle school category, Kamil Członka won, ahead of Mateusz Chmielnik and Joanna Szyler. Sławomir Puk won in the secondary school category, ahead of Bartosz Zarzycki and Joanna Pitek.
The winners in the individual age groups—Anna Latosińska, Kamil Członka and Sławomir Puk—will represent our county at the regional stage of the tournament. The organizers of the county-level round arranged attractive prizes. The main prizes included, among other things, a DVD player and a mini hi-fi system. All tournament participants received material prizes.
The tournament could not have been organized without the support of companies, institutions and private individuals. The organizers would like to thank: the Bolesławiec County Office, the Bolesławiec City Office, the Rural Municipality of Bolesławiec, the Nowogrodziec City Office, the Węgliniec Forest District, Chocianów, Ruszów, Świętoszów, the Volunteer Fire Department in Różyniec, Gospoda Kruszyna, Meduza Garden Centre, the Director of the Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych, Adam Maksymczyk, and teacher Jan Russ. The organizers also thank Zbigniew Bożęcki, Jerzy Kieler and all firefighters for their help in organizing the tournament.
