The final of this year’s National Inter-School Film Review “Wylęgarnia” took place on 8 April at the Teatr Sztuk in Jaworzno. The competition received 23 musical works, 22 films, 51 posters, 41 screenplays and 30 photo reports. The creators of the film “Awakening” received second prize in the Film – Lower Secondary Schools category: Jakub Czerwiński, Nicol Brands and Marcela Sasiela from the Bolesławiec Film School, as well as Przemysław Kania, a student of the Second General Secondary School.

The distinction in the cinematographers and editors category went to the creators of the award-winning film: Marcela Sasiela, Michał Bednarski and Bartłomiej Muszyński. Michał Szwed, the group’s supervisor, received a special distinction for developing young people’s passion for and talents in filmmaking. Michał Szwed also runs the film workshop at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Congratulations to all the winners, and we wish them further success.

The film “Awakening” was made by students of the Bolesławiec Film School for the second edition of the “I Say Thank You, I Don’t Smoke” film competition, where it won first prize. The competition was announced in June and decided in November 2015 at the BOK-MCC Cultural Integration Centre. The prevention-focused competition was organised by the Poviat Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Bolesławiec and the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. The competition was held under the patronage of the Lower Silesian State Provincial Sanitary Inspector Jacek Klakoćar and the Mayor of Bolesławiec, Piotr Roman.
