– The emotions have already subsided – says „ii” Wojciech „Rozi” Rozmus, who competed in the rally together with Grzegorz Kunka. – This was our first start this season on the asphalt special stages of Tarmac Masters 2016.
– As competitors, we had a great time – W. Rozmus continues. – The rally was difficult for our crew; the weather conditions did not allow us to get properly involved in the fight. Nevertheless, we took on the challenge. For both us and the car, it was a journey into the unknown – the stages were fast and technical at times, but we drove our own race. This time we were not prepared for such weather and did not have suitable tyres for wet surfaces (like most competitors). Without taking unnecessary risks, we managed.
After the first loop, the Bolesławiec competitors were 6th in the class (out of 17 cars). – It was not a bad result for our rear-wheel-drive BMW – the rally driver adds. – The second loop went in much the same way, and we hoped that we would make up some ground and improve. But it was not possible; we dropped to 7th place and wanted to hold on to it until the finish. The competition was better prepared, but there is no point in complaining. We are still learning and drawing conclusions – we want to improve every aspect of our rallying adventure.
