Our sappers had their hands full on 12–13 April. On Tuesday, unexploded ordnance was found in Jurków (Warta Bolesławiecka gmina) and Osieczów (Osiecznica gmina).
On Wednesday, our sappers intervened between Kraśnik Górny and Kruszyn (Bolesławiec gmina), in Szczytnica and in Łaziska.
The police appeal for caution and for notifying the appropriate services if we find objects that may be unexploded ordnance. Leaving unexploded ordnance behind poses a huge threat to the lives and health of others. – The most important thing is this – said staff warrant officer Radosław Mazur, commander of Bomb Disposal Patrol No. 23 – not to touch unexploded ordnance, but to notify the police, forest guard or forest ranger. Recently, there have been two accidents involving unexploded ordnance. We want to make everyone aware that these items are still dangerous. Even if they are rusty and muddy, they may be in the same condition inside as if they had just left the factory.
