Zgorzelec officers received information about an illegal tree-felling operation in the Zgorzelec municipality. During the operation, they detained a 33-year-old man who had cut down a tree worth several hundred złoty.
Police officers working on the case established that the man had many more thefts to his name. Since the beginning of the year, he had been illegally cutting down trees in the Zgorzelec municipality, causing losses amounting to several thousand złoty.
The 33-year-old now faces up to 5 years in prison.
