The tournament was attended by 15 teams representing Lower Silesian clubs: Anna Legnickie Pole, Atlas Szarocin, Jeżyki Lwówek Śląski, Liczyrzepa Miłków, Olimp Legnica, Orzeł Nielestno, Podaj Rękę Kamienna Góra, Pragnę Zwyciężyć Jelenia Góra, Promyk Wojcieszów, Radośni Dobroszyce, Sokół Żmigród, Sportowiec Ostrowina, Razem Lubań, Zamek Opolnica and the host team, Olimpijczyk Bolesławiec.
The organizers of the competition were the Lower Silesian branch of Special Olympics Poland and the Olimpijczyk Bolesławiec Special Olympics Club. Co-organizers and supporting institutions included: the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Bolesławiec City Hall, the Bolesławiec District Office, TOP Bolesławiec Sports Club, the District Complex of Special Schools and Institutions in Bolesławiec, Lower Secondary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec and MOS Bolesławiec.
The athletes were welcomed by the Mayor of Bolesławiec Piotr Roman, who wished them a successful start and the highest possible placements in the tournament. The Special Olympics flag was then carried in by athletes from Olimpijczyk Bolesławiec: Jacek Gąsieniec, Bartosz Rudziński, Zbigniew Gaweł and Elżbieta Kubuś.
The ceremonial opening of the competition was conducted by Łukasz Jaźwiec, chairman of the Education, Culture and Sport Committee of the Bolesławiec City Council. He also commented on a training demonstration by athletes from the Odra Głoska Księgienice club: Lower Silesian under-children's champion Adam Goleński and Norbert Woytyła, one of the province's leading cadets.
An artistic performance by female students of Lower Secondary School No. 2, prepared by Justyna Rapa and Jadwiga Stachów, completed the opening ceremony. The performers were: Magda Cichorzewska, Eliza Sondaj, Zuzanna Hryniewicz, Patrycja Domaracka, Klaudia Górska, Agata Łakomy, Magdalena Łakomy, Klaudia Miżdal, Katarzyna Mrozik, Anna Rączkiewicz and Natalia Zmaczyńska.
The competition was fiercely contested from the first point to the last. Approximately 100 table tennis players took part. After the matches, medals were awarded in all categories.
