At the end of February, we reported that the issue of the PKS bus station had been raised during a session of the Bolesławiec County Council. The mayor Piotr Roman spoke on the matter (we wrote about it in detail in the article The PKS bus station issue returns. Roman: It is an embarrassment for both the City and the County):

I made this offer and made very difficult decisions involving finding funds for this purchase [chodziło o 3,5 mln zł – przyp „ii”]. It is not as though the City has mountains of money. But if we continue to see such delays, I believe the City Council will also decide to allocate these funds for another purpose.

He added: “For me, the decision is simple. I have the money at this moment; I can help PKS.”

The matter returned during the March session of the Bolesławiec City Council. The head of the body, Jarosław Kowalski, told councillors that he had taken part in a meeting with representatives of the County and the PKS company. The subject of the meeting was precisely the sale of the bus station through a non-tender procedure.

The result? “After several hours of discussion, we were informed that, unfortunately, the PKS company cannot sell us this plot through a non-tender procedure because of restrictions in the agreement that we had not previously known about,” J. Kowalski told “ii.” He added: “Such information should have emerged at the beginning of the talks.”

What will happen with the bus station? It is not known for now. We will return to the subject.
