On 29 and 30 March, the Forum Cinema will hold advance screenings of a film about a great superhero clash: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Meanwhile, from 29 March to 6 April, the Forum Cinema lobby will host an exhibition of impressive steel sculptures by Sebastian Kucharski, “Art from SCRAP”.
The main inspiration for Sebastian Kucharski’s spectacular steel sculptures comes from characters featured in science-fiction films. Their creator makes true works of art from ordinary scrap metal, using a welder and an angle grinder. Imperial fighters from Star Wars, Alien and Predator are just some of his works. He primarily uses car scrap, bodywork and suspension arms to create them. The largest and most labor-intensive sculptures were made from more than a thousand elements. Some weigh as much as half a tonne and stand 3 metres tall. Their creation takes an average of 3 to 5 months, and in some cases as long as 10 months; it all depends on the size, the number of parts used and their availability at scrapyards.
This type of work and art is known as scrap sculpture—in other words, sculptures made from scrap metal. Sebastian Kucharski comes from Zawadzkie near Lubliniec and runs his workshop in Łącznik in the Opole region.
After viewing the exhibition, we invite you to see the film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Advance screenings at the Forum Cinema will take place on 29 and 30 March.
