Referring to the hard-hitting article by Ms. Grażyna Hanaf about the condition of the running path along the Bóbr [chodzi o artykuł MOSiR i Radio Wrocław mają melinę, a nie ścieżkę biegową – przyp. „ii”] and the result it produced (the path was finally cleaned up), I am asking you to intervene in a similar matter.

For years, I have been reporting to the local authorities and municipal police the issue of the total littering of the Bóbr riverbank beneath the footbridge connecting the outdoor swimming pools with Gdańska Street (on the swimming-pool side), as well as the embankment along the road leading from Gdańska Street into the woods, in the direction of Rakowice/Bożejowice. For years, these areas have been covered by mountains of rubbish, and no one has been able to enforce their removal by the landowner […].

These places are often visited by the residents of Bolesławiec and, unless I am mistaken, form part of the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park. I would be very grateful for effective intervention.

We checked. Beneath the footbridge, there are countless plastic and glass bottles scattered around. A used tissue has become caught between the branches. Someone even threw an old piece of furniture here. There is, of course, more rubbish.

Interestingly, there is a rubbish bin nearby. But the filthy people prefer to make a mess beneath the footbridge, because that is probably easier. They think: problem solved—and they couldn't care less whether anyone cleans it up.

We contacted Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec municipal office, about the matter. As it turns out, Zbigniew Kowalczyk, head of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre, has undertaken to clean up the area.

We will return to this matter.
