The March programme of the DKFbok Film Discussion Club features three titles: the French tragicomedy about crazy and passionate love, “My King”; the emotion-filled comedy set in the wintry landscapes of Iceland, "Rams. An Icelandic Tale"; and “The Big Short”, a story based on the true events that sparked the worldwide crisis of 2007–2010.

On 7 March: “My King” — a film by supermodel and actress Maïwenn, awarded Best Actress at Cannes. Georgio (Vincent Cassel) is a man you can never get bored with. He embodies every woman’s dreams: confident, witty and spontaneous. When he appears in Tony’s (Emmanuelle Bercot) life, he changes it by 180 degrees. This relationship is like a drug — it draws you in, becomes addictive and acts like an emotional roller coaster.

On 14 March: “Rams. An Icelandic Tale” is the story of two exceptionally stubborn brothers, in conflict with each other and living in a remote area. It is a warm and ironic celebration of the contrary nature of humanity. Winner of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. Iceland’s Oscar submission.

On 21 March: “The Big Short” — it is astonishing how just a few men, through speculation, embezzlement and balancing on the edge of the law, brought about a gigantic economic collapse in virtually every corner of the globe. The sensational behind-the-scenes story of events that affected every one of us. The film features an ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, Melissa Leo, Marisa Tomei, Karen Gillan and Selena Gomez.
