The subject of the former nurses’ hotel building was raised during a session of the Bolesławiec City Council, held on 23 September last year in the Council Chamber. (We wrote about it in the article “Samotniak” will stop scaring people in the city centre). “We have a major task ahead of us,” said Mayor Piotr Roman in September. “We are completing the process of moving people out of the so-called Samotniak [budynku przy ulicy Żwirki i Wigury w Bolesławcu – przyp. „ii”]. It took several years.

The Municipality of Bolesławiec took over the former nurses’ hotel building from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. As P. Roman emphasized, housing had to be found for 79 families.

At the beginning of October, we wrote that the building would be modernized by the Bolesławiec Social Housing Association. Recently, a man living near “Samotniak” called us. He was concerned because a notice had appeared on the building stating that it was to be sold. He added that the people living in the area had been very pleased by the news that “Samotniak” would stop scaring people, and wanted to know whether the City had withdrawn from the investment.

As Emil Zając, president of the Bolesławiec Social Housing Association, Emil Zając informed us, these are simply the procedures. It was necessary to organize a tender, in which the TBS intends to participate. The notice displayed on “Samotniak” does not mean that the municipal company will not handle the building.

We will return to the subject.
