The exhibition consists of works by nineteen artists associated with the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. Most of the works presented at the exhibition entitled “Compassio” refer to the Passion of Christ. The sculptures, paintings and ceramics contain a mystical-religious structure and depict Christ’s suffering on Golgotha. The Latin word “passio” means the suffering of the Son of God, while the concept of “compassio” evokes the co-suffering of the Mother of Christ. The exhibition will feature works by: Marita Benke-Gajda, Maria Bieńkowska-Kopczyńska Pestka, Adam Brincken, Magdalena Cisło, Bogdan Czesak, Dorota Ćwieluch-Brincken, Czesław Dźwigaj, Zbigniew Gierczak, Ewa Janus, Paweł Legutko, Józef Murzyn, Marcin Nosko, Natalia Nowacka, Bogusz Salwiński, Aleksander Śliwa, Stanisław Tabisz, Krystyna Zaboklicka, Barbara Zgoda and Andrzej Zwolak.
The exhibition will be presented at the “W sam raz” Gallery of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre (Forum cinema) from 26 February to 30 March 2016. Admission is free.
