The exhibition aims to draw attention to the creative work of women from Bolesławiec. “Three Ladies, All from Bolesławiec” features photography by Joanna Bruździńska, paintings by Jolanta Koźmin and patchwork by Jolanta Filipowicz. All three women have developed a rich artistic practice through their amateur work and, despite having no formal education in the fields they present, are able to showcase a substantial body of work. Jolanta Koźmin will present watercolours, drawings made using dry pastel techniques and acrylics on canvas. Joanna Bruździńska will present artistic photography; she is also involved in sculpture and painting, while photography is another field through which she can creatively express her aesthetic sensitivity. Joanna Bruździńska presented ceramic works at BOK-MCC in a solo exhibition in May 2013 and at a group exhibition by the BOK-MCC Art Studios in June 2011. For the first time in Bolesławiec, Jolanta Filipowicz will present her patchworks—works made using this technique.

During the opening, there will be a “hallo grupy” happening by the BOK-MCC theatre studio led by Urszula Frąszczak - Matyjewicz. We also invite you to take part in the Loteryjka—a raffle in which prizes will be drawn only among women who attend the opening wearing outfits inspired by the styles of the 1920s and 1930s. Attractive prizes have been donated by Termy Bolesławiec, Restauracja Oleńka na Starówce and Salon kosmetyczny Fabryka urody in Bolesławiec.

The exhibition title, “Three Ladies, All from Bolesławiec,” is a paraphrase of the refrain from Adam Kowalski’s 1935 song “Trzy panienki”; in the original, it reads: “Trzy panienki wszystkie z Wilna...”

Admission is free; the exhibition will be open until 7 April 2016.
