Theatre in Courtyards at the End of May in Bolesławiec

As the creators themselves write:

We want to promote our way of thinking about the social tasks of art in Lower Silesia. For us, the courtyard will become a magical centre of a lost community that can be rebuilt, even if only for a moment, by telling its story, evoking the living past and creating a myth. We believe that thanks to art, one can take a sentimental journey back to the times when there was a shared neighbourhood space, with its small problems, joys, gossip and legends. By telling the simple story of a typical Lower Silesian courtyard, we will also tell the less simple story of Lower Silesia’s last several decades. In this way, we hope to awaken residents’ sense of local pride, curiosity about history and connection with the place where they live.
