At the turn of January and February, an as-yet unidentified perpetrator smashed the windows of cars left in unattended car parks and then robbed them. From the first report, officers from the criminal division of the Lubin police headquarters worked on the case. Surveillance footage came to the officers’ aid, recording the perpetrator’s image after one of the subsequent thefts. Criminal investigators quickly established his identity. The burglar was arrested.

Police established that the arrested man began his activities at the end of January this year. Under cover of night, he approached cars left in unattended car parks. He smashed a window and searched the vehicle. When he found nothing inside, he smashed the window of another. The burglar stole CB radios, car radios and navigation devices. He sold the stolen items.

The Lubin resident has already been charged with 8 counts of burglary and 18 attempted burglaries. The profits he made from his activities were disproportionate to the damage he caused.

The 40-year-old resident of Lubin will now stand trial for his acts. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
