The fire occurred on the A4 motorway in the direction of Zgorzelec. Half a kilometre before the exit for Bolesławiec, flames appeared in the engine compartment of an Opel Omega. The two men travelling in the car managed to get out and take their belongings from inside the vehicle. They tried to put out the fire with a hand-held extinguisher, but it did not help.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire had already engulfed the vehicle’s interior.
The road towards Zgorzelec was blocked for a while.
