Col. Paweł Świtalski, commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:

Once again, we chose Marshal Piłsudski Square, named after a great Pole, statesman, commander and creator of the Polish armed forces, as the site of our ceremony.

Before you stand the heroes of today's event. They are young people who decided to try military life, experience the rigors of military service and take the first step toward a goal which, for most of them, is becoming professional soldiers.

The military oath is one of the most important and solemn events in a soldier's life. It will certainly remain in your memory for a long time. But remember that the oath is above all an act of pledging, an expression of your patriotism and your greatest commitment to the goals and tasks entrusted to soldiers by the entire nation.

Speaking on behalf of the cadets was Pvt. Artur Fila:

For us cadets, the opportunity to recite the words of the military oath is a profound experience and an honor. The time we spent training confirmed our conviction that the path we chose is leading in the right direction, and that serving our Homeland is an honorable duty.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to honor outstanding cadets with award leave and letters of commendation. The event concluded with a parade by the Regiment's subunits and a concert by the Military Band from Żagań.

It is worth adding that one of the event's highlights was a display of military equipment held at Father Popiełuszko Square.
