Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra arrested a 26-year-old resident of Janowice Wielkie municipality suspected of property crimes.
They established that the 26-year-old was responsible for at least six burglaries committed in Jelenia Góra in January this year. The man took advantage of the residents’ absence and entered apartments and houses through windows, stealing valuable items: laptops, tablets, money and jewellery. He later sold the stolen property to various people.
The victims estimated their losses at approximately PLN 40,000. In the suspect’s apartment, officers found some of the stolen items, worth more than PLN 7,000.
The Jelenia Góra resident admitted to the charges. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
