On Saturday in Głogów, the TOP Bolesławiec volleyball players competed in a playoff tournament for a place in the Lower Silesian Youth League Final. In the first match, the players from Bolesławiec defeated Gwardia II Wrocław 2:1 (21:25, 26:24, 15:10). In the next match, which decided advancement, our volleyball players confidently defeated Piast Głogów 2:0 (25:14, 25:21).
After defeating the volleyball players from Wrocław, immense joy broke out within the TOP team. The players from Bolesławiec became one of the three best teams in Lower Silesia. Team coach Tomasz Medyński recognized all the players for their good performance. TOP played with: Paulina Kopeć, Judyta Szłapa, Kasia Segiet, Sylwia Duru, Dorota Medyńska, Dorota Burdyna, Sandra Wilk, Kasia Jasińska.
In the Lower Silesian final, TOP Bolesławiec will face Polonia Świdnica (tournament on February 24 in Świdnica) and Gwardia I Wrocław (tournament on March 3 in Wrocław). The two best teams will qualify for the Polish Championships, which will be held in Warsaw.
In the 2006/07 season, the TOP Bolesławiec youth team played 20 matches, winning 14 of them. Reaching the final of the competition required a great deal of work and sacrifice from the team. The injured players, who did not play in Saturday's tournament, also contributed to reaching the final: Zosia Lenkiewicz, Edyta Szewczuk, Estella Ilczyna, and Ola Rychlicka, who had to travel to Zielona Góra.
