Police officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and detained a 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of burglary.
The suspect used the stolen ATM card at least six times. He used it to make contactless payments for purchases at shops in Jelenia Góra and at a petrol station. Interestingly, he received the card from a friend who, in December last year, had stolen it together with a wallet from an unlocked car.
The victim notified the police about the theft of property, including ATM cards. Based on the information gathered in the case and surveillance footage, officers identified and detained the person suspected of committing the offence.
The man confessed to the crime. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
