The project will be implemented until 30 June 2016, and its total cost is PLN 109,250.55.

The main objective of the project is to enrich the educational offering in the field of renewable energy sources by building an equipment base for education in the “renewable energy equipment and systems technician” course, which was launched at the “Mechanik” Technical School Complex in Jelenia Góra in the 2015/2016 school year.

By the date of signing the agreement under the “Jelenia Góra Education for Renewable Energy Sources” project:

  • modern teaching-aid sets were purchased, enabling research classes and experiments in the field of renewable energy sources
  • the “Renewable Energy Sources” interest club was launched; its programme takes into account the main directions of ecology understood as a lifestyle in the modern world
  • cooperation in the field of ecology was established with an external institution, TAURON Ekoenergia sp. z o.o., which became the honorary patron of the class
  • the website www.ozemechanik.pl was created, where the club’s activities, information on the current implementation of the project, and events and news concerning renewable energy sources will be published.
  • students of ZST Mechanik took part in three field workshops related to renewable energy sources. In Gubin, they visited a photovoltaic farm, while in Łukaszów and Modlikowice they visited wind farms
  • a roll-up banner and banners promoting the new “renewable energy equipment and systems technician” course were produced.

By 30 June 2016, the following will be completed:

  • environmental competitions for primary and lower-secondary school students, aimed at broadening knowledge of renewable energy sources, drawing attention to the role that energy based on renewable sources should play, and developing sensitivity to environmental problems in the student’s immediate surroundings
  • in-school workshops, “Jelenia Góra Environmental Monitoring Patrol”, and out-of-school workshops for lower-secondary students as part of the School Open Technology Days, aimed at encouraging interest in topics related to renewable energy sources, popularising the idea of using renewable energy sources, acquiring new skills in this field, promoting technical education, presenting the school’s activities in education, and promoting renewable energy sources at the Job and Career Fair for lower- and upper-secondary school students
  • field workshops—a student trip to the Green Power trade fair in Poznań
  • a conference summarising the project’s implementation, a presentation of the skills acquired by students of the newly opened “renewable energy equipment and systems technician” course, a presentation of the capabilities of the equipment base purchased as part of the project, and an overview of the best solutions in the field of renewable energy use.
