At the beginning of January this year, an unknown perpetrator broke into one of the workshops in the city. When the victim discovered that power tools and car wheels were missing, he reported the matter to the Lubin police. He also monitored auction websites himself, hoping to find the stolen items. On one of them, he recognized his belongings.
The victim estimated his losses at nearly PLN 5,000. As a result of further investigative work, Lubin criminal officers arrested a young resident of Lubin suspected of the break-in. The 26-year-old has already been charged with burglary and admitted to the offense.
The officers also recovered some of the stolen items. The perpetrator will face trial for his actions. He could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
