The headmaster of II LO, Mirosław Sakowski, invited Ryszard Gruchawka, an outstanding writer and poet, to the school. He has published many works and continues to release new titles in which he looks at the world around him in an extraordinary way. As always, the author was rebellious and mocking, entertaining the young audience with his witty epigrams and anecdotes from life. The students got the greatest enjoyment from his erotic works, in which he aptly and very humorously described relationships between women and men.

Ryszard Gruchawka was born in 1950 in Bolesławiec and belongs to the Association of Polish Writers. In 1986, he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture, as well as many other awards for his work. These included a literary award for lifetime achievement and the “Artur” statuette, awarded in Wrocław by the “Artur” chapter in 1995.

His prose and poems have been published in „Przegląd Kulturalny”, „Kultura”, „Polska Miedź”, „Konkretach”, „Sprawy i Ludzie”, „Mlada Frontina”, „Iglica”, „Własnym Głosem”, „Bez Kurtyny”, „Bez Przysłony” and „Nowiny Jeleniogórskie.” The author has taken part in many author meetings and given radio, television and press interviews.
