Police officers from the Kowary Police Station detained a 34-year-old resident of Mysłakowice Municipality, suspected of theft.
According to officers, the incident occurred on 25 July last year at one of the grocery discount stores in Kowary. The man took advantage of the staff's momentary inattention and stole alcohol and cosmetics. He took property worth nearly PLN 600. It included beer, whisky, coffee and two body lotions.
Based on the information collected in the case and an analysis of surveillance footage, police officers identified a person suspected of the crime.
The man was detained in police custody because officers had to bring him before a court in another case. The 34-year-old admitted to the theft and stated that he had sold the stolen property.
He could now face up to five years in prison.
