Although an electronic register of the animals’ numbers exists, once a year it is necessary to check whether the “debit” equals the “credit”.
According to this year’s count, Nasze Zoo is home to 546 animals representing 103 different species. The fish in the pond and various insects, although included in the inventory, cannot be counted.
In 2015, the Nasze Zoo animal family was joined by, among others, the Mexican axolotl, critically endangered in the wild; the equally endangered yellow-bellied crow; and giant kangaroos—the first representatives of marsupials at this institution.
The first offspring in 2016 are four young banded mongooses in the energetic family, while the griffon vulture is sitting on eggs. The new year has got off to a good start…
