The Patent Office did not register the Gliniada and Glinolud trademarks. This means that one of the event's creators did not receive exclusive rights to organize various events under the name Gliniada.
The application concerning Gliniada was filed with the Patent Office in June 2013. It concerned services involving: organizing and conducting performances, concert parades, cultural and entertainment events; organizing exhibitions in the field of culture; providing information about cultural events; organizing entertainment competitions; organizing and conducting live performances and theater shows; organizing and conducting theatrical performances; organizing and conducting artistic activities consisting of publicly painting participants or their clothing or objects with clay slurry.
Glinolud, in turn, was intended to be a protected trademark for services involving painting participants in parades, events and performances with clay slurry.
Both brands remain unregistered. Will the long-standing organizer, the Via Sudetica Association, apply for a patent? As Mariusz Lickiewicz, the Association's president, told us, there was such a plan a few years ago, but it was abandoned when Bogusław Nowak filed an application. Now there is a chance that the Association may obtain a patent through the standard procedure.
