For three years, the organizer of the ceramic festival has been buying from Bogusław Nowak an event called the Glina(spacja)Da Theater: Parade Out of Love for Clay. After the president discontinued the traditional ceramic parade, Nowak’s Theater replaced that event at the ceramic festival.
The problem is that public posts full of hatred toward Ukrainians, women, the LGBTQ+ community, Jews, foreigners, refugees, immigrants and politicians from various political camps regularly appear on the profile of Nowak, the Theater’s owner. At the same time, people are encouraged to participate in the parade organized on the penultimate day of the Bolesławiec festival.
In our view, participating in Nowak’s theater normalizes hate speech and conceals the restaurateur’s political, pro-Braun sympathies beneath a clay mask.
The sponsors of this normalization of hate speech are companies from Bolesławiec: Ready Construct, Zakłady Mięsne Niebieszczańscy, Rowery Apanasewicz, Korczowscy bakery, Marpol and 2xTAK. The co-organizers are BOK – MCC, MZGK, PWiK and the Bolesławiec City Office.
