Concerts at Opałkowa have already become a regular part of culture in our town. This time, we were able to listen to virtuoso pieces played on the harmonica, bandoneon, double bass and guitar. "We organize such cultural events because we care about promoting the region among the residents of Bolesławiec and tourists visiting us," says Jacek Opała, the concert organizer. From the beginning, Opałkowa Chata has been a member of Via Sudetica, a group of entrepreneurs and artists who care about promoting the region.

The tangos performed at Opałkowa Chata on Saturday evening were captivating. As is well known, tango has always aroused controversy. Its origins in dives and brothels, as well as its distinctive erotic character, repeatedly provoked numerous protests. In 1913, the London-based The Times called tango the most indecent dance. Even Pope Pius X took part in the debate, while the German emperor forbade his guests to dance it. Nothing stopped the wave of enthusiasm for this musical and dance form. In the 1920s, tango was elevated from a popular song to the status of a musical art form.
