Officers from the Criminal Department of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec recovered a delivery van during operational activities. The owner had reported it stolen just a few hours earlier. The crime was committed on 5 January this year, but the vehicle owner informed the officers that the vehicle was missing on the morning of 7 January.
Police findings indicate that the unsecured vehicle, valued at PLN 20,000, was stolen by a 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle on one of the streets of Bolesławiec.
The arrested 25-year-old had previously been in conflict with the law. Officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case and checking whether the suspect has committed other crimes against property.
The 25-year-old confessed to the alleged offence. He faces up to five years in prison.
